The pictures of the house do not do the home/property justice. We loved staying here. It was worth the 5 hour drive for this town. Beds were comfy, everything was clean, spacious areas. We loved playing games around the large table. The donkeys and cows were adorable. The only downfall was the single bathroom with having 6 guests. But even that wasn’t much of an issue. The town has so much to offer. So happy with our stay and the awesome property. The owner Kara was so sweet and responsive. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful land and kind personality

The cabin was a great option for our stay. Kara has really put in the effort to make it a comfortable place to stay. I plan on recommending it to anyone I know who may be headed to the area.

Had 2 days of work and did not wanna to stay in a nasty motel. Was blessed to be able to book at Kara’s home and it was beautiful. Beautiful view and fun amenities . Will book again for when I work in Hico again. Thank you Kara!!!

We took 3 girls and 5 pigs to a pig show in Hamilton. stayed at GSD ranch friday and sat night. The place was clean and the girls loved the hammocks. We will defintely stay there again.

Such a great, quirky place! Lots of space on the property to run around in; we had 4 adults and 3 kids and it was lovely. As a heads up (it's listed but we missed it) – there's 2 rooms, but to get to the room with king bed, you have to go through another room which made the sleeping tricky with kids. But that was doable and the whole trip was great. Would definitely stay again and am excited to explore the Tiny Houses!

I loved staying at the ranch. Waking to the longhorns, the kitties on the porch, all the animals. It was a treat to get out of the city! Will be visiting again!

I am a creature of habit and stay in the same places whenever possible. I enjoy this cabin because of the room it provides for my grandkids to run around without tripping over each other when I come for a visit. I like the balance of having something for everyone. A great location close to Fossil Rim and Dinosaur Park. Embedded with Texas ranch charm, this AirBnB lets you escape. The house is as to be expected – clean, functional, and supportive. Better yet, our young kids (and us!) enjoyed the on – site longhorns, sheep, donkey, chickens, and cats. The hosts are easy to communicate with, both speed – wise via text, and in person as welcoming and gracious.

This beautiful working ranch will steal your heart w the darling greeting crew of the SWEETEST little kittens playing on the gorgeous, wonderful and generous great big , perfect , antique farm house front porch! The swing by the front door was such a perfect touch as we entered to the most perfectly appointed and spacious, clean lovely and beautiful cabin. They really thought of everything to make this warm and rustic cabin be our joyful place of celebration and quick yet SO special and meaningful Easter getaway Kara and her crew just made this Easter such a wonderful , wonderful miracle trip for us! We cannot begin to thank you enough! We had such a lovely time and had the opportunity of making wonderful memories thanks to you being so flexible, kind and having the hospitality heart as big as Texas! You were so very thoughtful and really made things so easy for us, just like a vacation getaway should be. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here and can’t wait to come back with more friends and family to share this beautiful cabin! Everything is so nice and neat and SUPER clean which is super important to me as a cancer survivor and someone with a highly compromised immune system AND a broken back. This was such a gift to get to get away and attend the world famous production of the most beautiful Easter story named The Promise at Glen Rose Tx! If you get the opportunity to plan to do this as part of your family celebration next year I highly highly recommend going to see this breathtaking performance set in a breathtaking Hillside of Glen Rose. Likewise We cannot stress how much our hearts recommend that you stay in one of the ranches precious, adorable cabins or tiny homes here at the ranch because it is just magical! The beds are lovely , comfy and very nice in each spacious room. It might be important for you to know that bedrooms are nicely large with two queen beds in the far back room and two twin beds in the bedroom in front of the back bedroom. You do have to walk through the first bedroom to get to the bathroom but that was not an issue at all for us. The bathroom is nice and large and the air conditioning was cooling so beautifully which was important to me again because Of chemotherapy that requires the house to be able to cool properly (and that is not always easy with our crazy springtimes temps in Texas!) The kitchen is so darling and beautifully finished with super professional upgrades and gas appliances as well as lots and lots counter room too cook, create or make lots of family memories ; like dying Easter eggs!!!???? We just cannot say enough about the beautiful farm itself and the wonders and beauties that God created whic made this country to be the most perfect little Easter; joyful , peaceful , meaningful EGGS – travaganza and getaway!! The precious little kittens, the chickens, the sheep and sweet , sweet donkey,… ALL made us feel so welcome and so very very blessed to get to share Easter with them! We were also greeted by the beautiful long horn cattle that is so amazing and just breathtaking! Everywhere you look, it is so graciously fourth with natural awe and wonder! Everything was perfectly clean and the beauty of the home and the land are only overshadowed by the beauty and size of the heart of the host! Kara went out of her way and over the top to very quickly respond to each of our request , and we were doing everything at the last minute which made extra demand on her! We cannot begin to rave enough with the mere use of words and STARS ⭐️ (wish we could give more than 5!) ! We simply cannot stress HOW very much we recommend that you Book this precious ranch cabin and jewel for your next Texas SIZE Adventure ! There were only three of us but this cabin could easily accommodate a family with children and others! We absolutely loved this place. It was like a home away from home during our baseball tournament!! Kara’s communication was outstanding. We needed a later check out and she was more than willing to accommodate!! We will definitely stay again!!

This is a real pretty area. Our kids loved seeing all the animals. The fire pit next to the house was excellent for family time/telling ghost stories and roasting marshmallows!

A great little ranch just off the highway! My wife and I were in the area to visit family and wanted to spend extra time with the grandkids. We rented the big cabin and had beds and towels for everyone. Our grandkids had a great time visiting the animals and exploring every inch of the property. Guarantee they will remember this trip for a long time to come! Also, for those of us thinking about living in a tiny home on a couple acres, this is a great place to try before you buy. This is where you should stay in the Hico area. It's a big cabin, there are interesting animals to see on the property, and it's a short drive into town. Kara was very responsive and resolved a plumbing issue immediately. Friendly host, great cabin.

Me and my little family had the best time here in this cabin in the perfect little town of Hico, Texas Kara was very responsive and pleasant and went above and beyond any expectations. she answered any questions I had and was very helpful with things to do in town and we were able to feed the animals on property which my four-year-old loved will definitely stay again !

So much fun!!! I went here for spring break with my sisters and kids. It was perfect. We all loved seeing the sheep and cows. The first thing my two-year-old would say in the morning was, “I see baa baa sheep and cows.” Plenty of space for our group. We loved the open main area to just visit.

We were looking for a retreat away from the Metroplex. This cabin (more than a cabin!) was perfect. There are longhorns, sheep, and ducks in the pond and a nice gravel driveway to take a walk on. It was clean, with thoughtful touches throughout. Kara was always available (not sure how she did it!) and always helpful and upbeat. We would recommend it to anyone who needed a break from the city.

Kara is so amazing and so accommodating. I definitely recommend a stay here. The livestock are so friendly to. Mrs. B gives sugars even. Mrs. B is a beautiful longhorn. I couldn't of asked for a better host or more beautiful place to stay. I am a traveling nurse and everyone was so thoughtful and helpful during my stay. I will definitely be staying here again. This was exactly the kind of retreat for which we were hoping! Everyone enjoyed themselves! Loved the location!  We were close to town, which offered unique shopping, restaurants, historical attractions, and easy access to basic necessities (fuel & groceries).  But the attractions offered directly on the property will make you not want to leave for anything else.  The longhorns and other livestock, are attractions unto themselves!   The cabin is nicely updated.  Full kitchen, large bathroom, comfortable beds, and plenty of living space for the entire family!  The pictures just don't do it justice.  The hosts take great care in making sure your visit is an exceptional experience. Experience this fantastic place for yourself – you will not regret it!

Nice place in the country, not far from local restaurants and attractions in Hico. Longhorn cows and sheep for kids to marvel at. Nice porches and decks to lounge on and enjoy coffee or an adult beverage. Lots of beautiful oak trees.

Just what I needed! So fun to watch the long horn close up. My kids loved it. We had all we needed at this rustic cabin! It was the perfect get – a – way. Very clean and comfortable! Kara was an excellent host with quick communication. Relaxing by the fire at night and looking up at the vast stars was the high point. Close to town easy to get food. I can’t wait to stay there again!

This was a beautiful retreat. Such a relaxing ranch to sit and sit coffee as the long horn strolled by. Great house, simple, host offered the essentials. Kitchen was well stocked with pots pans and other items. Cooking was easy. Kara was a fantastic host. Great at communication. The option to bring my dog was wonderful. But be careful to keep your dog on lead so it doesn’t get into the long horn area. (You don’t want your dog hurt). Hiking was great. Pond was beautiful. I will definitely stay there again!
